Brooklyn Grandmaster || Brklyn Series || Bobby Fischer || Game Of The Century
Robert James “Bobby” Fischer (born: March 9, 1943 – January 17, 2008) was an American chess prodigy, Grandmaster, and the eleventh world chess champion.
Many consider him the greatest chess player of all time. Born in Chicago he moved to Brooklyn in 1949 and by the age of 13 Fischer won a ‘Brilliancy’ that became known as “The Game of The Century.”
Starting at age 14, Fischer played in eight United States Championships, winning each by at least a one point margin.
At age 15, Fischer became both the youngest Grandmaster up to that point and the youngest candidate for the world championship.
At age 20, Fischer won the 1963 -64 US Championship with an 11/11, the only perfect score in the history of the tournament.
Though his life and retirement teeters with some unsavory statements and life choices his genius and impact has earned him a feature in minimal hustle’s 2015 ‘Made Here,’ Brooklyn Series.
